Folk, rock, funk and fun kick off 
Vote for Tanya! fundraising effort

Danya River- Boulder-based singer/songwriter with an amazingly 
versatile voice and provocative, enchanting lyrics
The Magnificent 7- funk jam style seven-piece band with an energetic 
dance beat from Nebraska

WHAT: Performances at the Vote for Tanya! fundraiser

WHEN: Thursday, July 8
7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with Danya River
9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with The Magnificent 7

WHERE: The D-Note restaurant and live music venue, 7519 Grandview

WHY: Many talented performers will lend their talents to the Ishikawa 
for County Commissioner campaign effort. The event will support Tanya 
Ishikawa in her bid for election as Jefferson County Commissioner. 
The $5 event fee will pay for the fantastic double billing. 
“Music brings people together – the same way I want my campaign to 
bring us together,” Commissioner candidate Tanya Ishikawa said. “Just 
likewe join in the enjoyment of inspiring words and tunes, I hope we 
can join in creating solutions to the issues in our government. We 
all want to live happy and healthy lives – free of excessive 
complication and trouble. Since government gathers tax money to build 
infrastructure and maintain important services, it has a pivotal role 
in making sure we can achieve that simple, trouble-free lifestyle. 
That would be my goal as county commissioner.”

*  The D-Note, a family-owned Arvada business, is getting 
politically active. In addition to opening their space for candidate 
events, the year-old music venue is participating in voter 
registration drives.
* Tanya Ishikawa is a 37-year-old Green Party candidate for 
the Jeffco Commissioner office, a position usually held by 
Republicans. Young and hopeful, she believes the county is ready for 
more progressive leadership who realizes conservative decision-making 
and fiscal management should blend with innovative planning.
* Danya supports Tanya. The talented Danya River is an up-
and-coming vocal talent from Boulder where Tanya went to the 
University of Colorado. Does having similar names and sharing a love
