DENVER, CO - The Green Party of Colorado will host a "Go Green" =
registration party, featuring Green presidential candidate David Cobb =
and several Colorado Green Party candidates at the D Note, 7519 Grand =
Avenue, Old Town Arvada, Wednesday August 11th, from 6-9 pm. The event =
follows the August 10th Democrat and Republican primaries when a large =
number of voters are expected to change their party affiliation to =
Green. Presidential candidate David Cobb, who won the Green Party =
nomination in June, has made building the Green Party a priority.

Event organizers are promoting the event to encourage more Coloradoans =
to register Green. Green Congressional candidate Bob Kinsey is making =
registering new Greens a major focus of his campaign. "I'm asking =
progressives to cast another kind of vote by registering Green even if =
they think they cannot vote their conscience in the general election," =
explained Kinsey, "Progressives need to let the major parties know that =
they're tired of these 'lesser evil' candidates, and registering Green =
is one way to send that message."

"I'm proud that the Green Party will be holding this event in Arvada - =
in my county," Jefferson County Commissioner Candidate Tanya Ishikawa =
said. "Jeffco is a beautiful county and the residents are concerned =
about preserving its natural beauty. That is one reason I am running for =
office and it is the reason why more Jeffco residents should register =
Green."

Second-term Green San Miguel County Commissioner Art Goodtimes =
commented, "Watch out major parties! Cobb's commitment to a safe states =
strategy to help ensure Bush's defeat, coupled with his support for =
building the party from the bottom up, means the Greens will continue to =
be a deciding force in national elections in the coming years."

Colorado Green Party co-chair Lanny Kness explained the idea behind the =
Go Green Rally, "The progressive vision for America is not being =
addressed by the leadership of the two major parties. We're asking =
progressives from all parties to join us in moving the country forward. =
Because of the two party system, the major parties can just give =
progressives lip service, and expect them to just follow along with =
their conservative agendas. Help us grow the true progressive party." =
The Go Green event will include speeches by the candidates, voter =
registration, and will end with a Blues Jam led by the Clamdaddys.
