GPCO Monthly Status Report - August 2004
This is the monthly status report of the activity of the GPCO State
officers. In it, we will briefly outline the activities that have
occurred in the previous month, and list the activities to accomplish in
the next.
Please do not respond to this email on the GPCO Discuss list! If you
have a specific question stemming from this status report, email
directly the officer responsible for the item.
August Activities - Completed
1) Go Green! Rally with David Cobb - The GPCO had a very successful
rally with Presidential Nominee David Cobb on August 11th. Around 60
individuals attended with the event with coverage of Cobb's visit
occurring in 3 newspapers and 1 radio station. I would like to thank the
people who made this possible especially pointing out the contributions
of the owners of the D-Note (http://www.dnote.us/) in Arvada, Kirstin
Marr, Hollie Kopp, Tyler Kinkade, and Doug Malkan. Lanny Kness,
lannykness@comcast.net
2) La Plata Reinstatement Proposal - I have been unable to communicate
and work with the members of the La Plata Greens, and now consider them
inactive to the point that reinstatement must occur at a State Meeting.

3) Council Proposals
016-04 - Limit rounds bound to 1 for National Delegates - Passed
017-04 - 1000 Autumn "Green Pages" from GPUS for locals - Passed
018-04 - Return to rules lost in 4/26/03 edit of "Procedures and
Guidelines" - Passed
September Activities - to do
1) Fill empty positions - There are several positions open at the GPCO
and GPUS level.
GPCO Co-Chair - The Green Party of Colorado needs 1 additional Co-Chair
to help with the business of the State party. For the success of the
Green Party in Colorado, i believe this is the most important position
to fill. It would be desirable for this person to be a woman from the
Western Slope, but if not available, i would support someone who is
committed to the work. If interested, please contact me for details.
Lanny Kness, lannykness@comcast.net
GPUS-CC Representative - Bill McCormick is stepping down as 1 of 2 GPCO
representatives to the GPUS Coordinating Committee. Thanks for your
efforts, Bill. This is an important position for Colorado to fill so
that we are fully represented at the GPUS level. If interested, contact
Lanny Kness, lannykness@comcast.net
2) State conference call: I would like to have a State conference call.
This is just to review the last few months, discuss any issues, and to
consider what we need to accomplish in the next months. This will be in
early September. Lanny Kness, lannykness@comcast.net
3) State Meeting / Nominating Convention minutes - Bruce McNaughton will
be completing the official minutes from the State meetings on April
24th. These will be posted on the GPCO website when completed. Bruce
McNaughton brucemcn@iopener.net
4) Status of committees - I will try and get updates, the names of the
Co-Chairs, and plans of action form the 3 other GPCO committees, which
are Platform, Outreach, and Registration.
5) Current elected officials - I will be contacting all of the current
elected officials as a good will gesture. I hope to get feedback from
them and see where we can work better together. The GPCO would also like
to collect contact and bio info plus a picture for the GPCO website.

Please send directly to me any comments / ideas about the content and
format of this status report.
Thanks.
